The QRHV, (Queensland Rail Heritage Volunteers) had been asked to mount a display at the Center for Railway Engineering, James Goldston Faculty of Engineering & Physical Systems in building 30 at the Central Queensland University. At a previous meeting we had agreed to mount a display. Garry Miller offered to display this LEGO electric train set. Peter Draper offered to display his HO electric train set and I also offered to display my miniature 1/8th scale model live steam train as a static display. It consisted of my miniature model of the QGR’s PB-15 class locomotive No.737 and the “FGW” Water Wagon, “F” wagon, “A” wagon and the “BBV” Guard’s Van. Here are some of the displays at the QRHV show:

Little trains maybe, but it is surprising just how much they can haul

Most of the displays were brought in by Pantac and assembled from there with lots of help from members of the club.

.....When I received my March issue of the Australian Railway Historical Society Bulletin and Sunshine Express magazines there was a supplement informing us that the Bundaberg Railway Enthusiasts Society Inc was running a Special train from Bundaberg to Gin Gin on Saturday 20 April 1991 and it would be hauled by the QGR's PB-15 class Steam Loco No.737
and fares for adults would be $25-00 each. I rang the Barnes household and Vern's wife, Glen answered the phone and I asked her if Vern would like to accompany me on this tour and the answer was, quote:- "Are you mad there is only one answer to that question, YES! YES! YES!" So on Friday 12 April I rang John Lebsanft and was told to send my cheque for $50-00 in the mail as he would reserve me two tickets and as he wasn't sure that the post would deliver them in time he would hold them at the Bundaberg Railway Station and we could pick them up there before the train left.

My Subaru was packed, (as it takes four people to load and unload my miniature PB-15, it gets left in the Guards Van ). Also the video title was in the can and we were all set to go.
